Want to Sound Like Dave Murray?

For all of the TMT fans that play guitar, you likely know that Dave Murray is one of my favorite players. Some people say that most of his solos sound similar. I say that those same people do not listen to his playing very well.

Dave's unique fluid/legato style is what captured the attention of many wannabe players and also helped start the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.

So, do you want to sound like Dave Murray? Well, this gear will get you started but the practicing part is up to you. I did my best to locate most of the gear all through a single online source with the best pricing. Check out the links below.

Shure U4D UHF Wireless Unit

Dunlop DCR-1SR Rack Crybaby Wah

Custom Built Pete Cornish Router

Marshall JMP-1 Valve Midi Preamp

Marshall JFX-1 Signal Processor

Marshall 9200 Dual Monobloc All-Tube (5881s) Power Amplifier

Marshall 1960AV 4x12 Cabinets

Check out this video. This guy has a similar set up as Dave Murray. The video is sort of a tutorial and he goes over all of the gear and the proper settings.

The video is labeled as "part one". However, there is no "part two" posted on Youtube as of yet. When it is, I will update this article and attach the new video.

TMT readers, is Dave Murray your favorite NWOBHM guitarist? If not, please leave us a comment and tell us who your favorite is.
